Following the appointment of Matt Fejos as Coach Development & Mentoring lead, we have recruited a team of highly able coach developers to support the futsal coaching workforce in England. We are committed to providing high quality learning opportunities for Coaches and so today launch the England Futsal Coach Mentoring Programme.
The 2023-24 England Futsal Coach Mentoring Programme is a new programme, shaped using feedback from key stakeholders and the futsal community, aligned to underpinning the broader coach support/futsal development activities that the FA have specifically entrusted us with as an organisation.
The new Coach Mentor programme will link 20 aspiring coaches of any level with a Coach Mentor to support with about 10 hours of individual contact and support from getting to know you, goal setting, learning, reflecting, feedback and development.
You can apply for the programme here where we will support across the range of experience from beginner up to those engaged weekly in the highest levels of competition as well as some group support for females in coaching. In addition to completing the application portal, applicants must submit a video and a reference to coaching@englandfutsal.com by the deadline. We recommend using weTransfer to send your video.
Your application video should be no longer than 3 minutes in length and express why you are seeking the support of a mentor and how you think it can help your futsal coaching journey.
Your reference should be from a player you’ve coached answering the following question and emailed direct to coaching@englandfutsal.com – “What are the strengths of your coach, and how did this help you, make you feel and improve?” If the player is under 18 this should be sent via the appropriate parent, guardian or carer.
Please note that completing the application does not guarantee a place on the mentor programme and is dependant on selection. The application from does not autosave, we recommend individuals crafting their answers elsewhere (e.g. a word doc) and pasting them in.
